A supra is the Georgian traditional feast - a table laden with dishes (meze, grilled meats, salads, bread, pickles), presided over by a tamada (toastmaster) who leads elaborate toasts throughout the meal. A proper supra can last 3–5 hours. Georgians take immense pride in hospitality and will often invite you to a supra within the first few weeks of friendship. Absolutely attend if you're invited - it's one of the world's great communal eating experiences.

Absolutely - and arguably more so than Tbilisi itself. Kazbegi's mountains are among the most dramatic landscapes in Europe. The Kakheti wine region is serene and beautiful. Svaneti's medieval stone towers in a high Caucasus valley feel completely otherworldly. Batumi's subtropical coastline is completely different from the rest of the country. Georgia is small enough to see a huge amount in a single week.

Georgia is an outdoor paradise: skiing at Gudauri (2 hours from Tbilisi, 3,279m) and Bakuriani, hiking in Kazbegi (Gergeti Trinity Church, stunning views), paragliding, mountain biking, white-water rafting, and caving in Prometheus Cave. The Black Sea coast (Batumi) is 5 hours away. Mtatsminda Park in Tbilisi has a cable car and amusement park. In summer, Georgia's mountain villages offer some of Europe's most spectacular trekking.

Tbilisi is famous for its 24/7 nightlife culture. Bassiani (in a former Soviet swimming pool) is world-ranked by Resident Advisor. Fabrika hosts outdoor parties, bars, and markets. The Vera and Vake districts have wine bars, rooftop lounges, and live music venues. The city has a thriving digital nomad and expat community with regular meetups, language exchanges, and cultural events year-round.

Georgia, especially Tbilisi, has a fast-growing international community - Americans, Europeans, Russians, Ukrainians, and Iranians all call it home. Facebook groups 'Expats in Tbilisi' and 'Digital Nomads in Georgia' are highly active. Fabrika and coworking spaces host international meetups weekly. Language exchange events at universities and international networking nights make it easy to build a social circle quickly.
