Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9/7/2026
1. Introduction
ExpatLife.Ai ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.
2. Information we collect
We may collect:
- Account data: Email, name, and profile information when you sign up.
- Dream tool inputs: The text you enter when using our AI Dream Tool, to generate matches and improve our service.
- Newsletter signups: Email addresses when you subscribe.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and general analytics (e.g., via Google Analytics).
- Cookies: Session and preference cookies to keep you logged in and remember your settings.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to provide and improve our services, send newsletters (if you opted in), personalize your experience, analyze usage patterns, and communicate with you. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Third-party services
We use Supabase for authentication and database, Google Analytics for analytics, and may use other services for email delivery and hosting. These providers have their own privacy policies. By using ExpatLife.Ai, you consent to data processing by these services as necessary to operate our product.
5. AI processing of relocation assessments
If you complete a Relocation Assessment intake form, the answers you give are sent to the Anthropic API (Claude) so that your situation can be researched against current published sources and a report produced for you. This happens only when you submit the form, and the notice above the submit button tells you so before you send anything.
The intake form asks questions that may lead you to disclose sensitive information, including health conditions, medication, criminal record and family circumstances. You choose what to write. Anything you enter in those fields is included in what is sent for research, so leave a field blank if you would rather it were not.
Anthropic does not use data submitted through their API to train their models. We do not sell this data or share it with anyone beyond the processing described here. Your answers remain attached to your account, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
If you would prefer your answers were not processed this way, do not submit the form. Email [email protected] instead and a person will handle your enquiry directly. Reports produced this way are automated research, not legal or immigration advice.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use two categories of cookies and storage technologies:
- Necessary: Required for the site to function - authentication and session, payment processing (PayPal), and a small browser-storage counter for the free-content limit. These cannot be turned off.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (anonymous pageviews and engagement) and Microsoft Clarity (aggregate session data - clicks, scroll patterns - used to identify usability issues). These load only with your explicit consent.
On your first visit we ask whether to enable analytics - you can accept all, reject all, or choose categories. Google Analytics runs under Google Consent Mode v2, which means if you reject, no identifying cookies are dropped. You can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer. Your saved preference lasts 12 months, then we ask again.
7. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to processing, or request data portability. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise these rights.
9. Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
