Kigali's highland equatorial climate is one of its most appealing features — perpetual spring with minimal humidity, no need for air-conditioning, and spectacular green scenery across the 'Land of a Thousand Hills.'

Kigali's transport system is modern by East African standards — well-maintained roads, tap-and-go bus payments, and ride-hailing apps make getting around straightforward. Traffic exists but is far less severe than Nairobi or Dar es Salaam.

Kigali's dining scene has expanded rapidly, with excellent Rwandan cuisine alongside an increasingly cosmopolitan food scene. Rwanda's specialty coffee is a genuine highlight — the country produces some of Africa's finest arabica.

Kigali has a growing and welcoming expat community, driven by NGOs, international organisations, diplomats, tech workers, and a new wave of entrepreneurs attracted by Rwanda's stability and vision.
